Description of the steps in this study. The San Martín cohort consists of 109 participants with long COVID symptoms and 28 healthy controls (1), who underwent an initial clinical assessment with a neurologist, completed a structured questionnaire and standardised scales (2), underwent cognitive assessment (3), and had a brain MRI scan (4). The structural MRI images were processed using FreeSurfer and FSL (5) and all the data was statistically analysed comparing both groups
